Dovercourt Crypt Haunted House in North Vancouver
Dovercourt Crypt transforms a residential property in North Vancouver into a Halloween haunted house filled with spooky scenes, eerie decorations and seasonal scares. Located in the Lynn Valley neighbourhood, the attraction combines homemade Halloween creativity with a charitable fundraising effort supporting the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.
Halloween at Dovercourt Crypt
Most of the year, the Lynn Valley neighbourhood is a quiet residential area. During Halloween season, however, the property at 3637 Maginnis Avenue becomes the setting for Dovercourt Crypt, drawing visitors looking for a neighbourhood haunted house with plenty of character.
One of the attraction’s distinguishing features is its location. Rather than visiting a commercial entertainment venue, guests enter a Halloween setup created at a local family’s home, including an addition built specifically for the haunt.
The detailed scenes and spooky atmosphere reflect the time and effort invested by the organizers and their volunteer crew. The attraction also offers a more community-oriented approach to Halloween, with admission by donation.
Dates and Hours
In 2026 Dovercourt Crypt is scheduled to operate daily from October 16th to 31st. The calendar includes a soft opening, quieter sessions for younger visitors, full-scare evenings and special Halloween Day activities.
Soft Opening — October 16th
Opening night runs from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This initial walk-through does not include scare actors.
Hauntling Nights — October 19th–22nd and October 26th–29th
These sessions run from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm and are designed for visitors who want to experience the haunted house without actors jumping out at them. The atmosphere remains spooky, but the format is more suitable for younger children and guests who prefer milder scares.
Full Haunt — October 23rd–25th and October 30th
The more intense experience runs from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. These evenings feature live actors and jump scares for visitors looking for a scarier Halloween attraction.
Halloween Day — October 31st
The scare-free walk-through is scheduled from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by the full haunted house from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Trick-or-treating begins at 4:00 pm, adding another Halloween activity for families visiting the neighbourhood.
